Today

Echo remembers. You just show up.

Your level, weak patterns, vocabulary strength, recent topics and Echo’s notes all persist — nobody starts from zero each day. Every morning, Parla plans a short day of practice around them: a few minutes, out loud.

—

A daily plan, not a course catalogue

One lesson up next in the ink card, the rest of today underneath — chosen because of what you stumbled on last time.

—

Streaks, XP and a level that moves

Streaks and XP from Whisperer towards Legend, and a CEFR level that moves up or down based on your recent scores.

—

Find your real level first

A two-minute placement check — two readings and one open answer — sets your starting level and seeds Echo’s memory.

Learn

Every lesson is written for you, on the spot.

Seven kinds of practice, numbered I–VII in the app. Same list, same words — this is the real Learn screen, restated for the web.

I

Read Aloud

Stories and explainers written for your level and interests.

II

Speed Run

Fast-speaking practice with a live pacer that highlights where you should be. The target speed grows as you improve.

III

Pattern Drill

Sentences built around the sounds you tend to drop — ‘th’, -ed endings, final -s, articles, V/W, R/L.

IV

Word Power

Five new words, learned by saying them out loud — used in a story, then spaced-repetition review.

V

News Reader

Real headlines, retold at your level, with key vocabulary and a link to the original.

VI

Speak Freely

One open question, no script. Feedback on grammar, words and flow.

VII

Role-play

Job interviews, cafés, doctors and more, each with three goals. Echo stays in character and ticks goals off as they happen.

✓

Placement check

Two minutes of speaking to set your level and focus areas.

Read about anything. Pick a topic — Space, Football, Cooking, Startups, Travel, Animals, Film, Mysteries — or write your own, and Echo writes the passage. Heard a word somewhere? Add up to eight under “Teach me these words” and practise them in a story.

How it works

Read it out loud. Echo does the rest.

01

Read aloud

Passages written for your level, interests and weak spots. Tap the ink record button — it turns terracotta while Echo listens.

Try it — visual demo only, nothing is recorded.

02

Every word is checked

Your recording is transcribed verbatim — mistakes kept — then aligned word by word with the text: correct, changed, skipped, or not read yet. The measurements don’t depend on the AI, so scores are explainable and stable.

03

The next lesson fixes it

Echo turns that into friendly feedback, updates its memory of your weak patterns, and writes the next lesson to work on exactly those. Patterns fade as you improve.

What went wrong — and what went right

“Great reading.” Then, precisely why.

Every session ends with a review. Your own words appear with each mistake highlighted, grouped by type — pronunciation, skipped words, grammar, word choice, filler words. Tap a highlight to see what happened, why, and how to fix it.

—

Hear it correctly · Hear yourself

Compare Echo’s version with your own recording, kept on your device.

—

Fix these now

Your mistakes become a drill of their corrected sentences, straight from the review.

—

How you sounded

Pitch, volume, pauses, pace and steadiness — scored as energy, expressiveness, confidence, flow, steadiness and clarity. Echo coaches delivery, not just words.

—

Tap any word

Meaning, a simple explanation, a translation into your language, an example — and hear it spoken.

Questions

Before you speak up.

What is Parla, in one sentence?

Parla is your AI speaking buddy: you read AI-written texts out loud, Echo listens, finds exactly where you stumble, remembers it, and writes the next lesson to fix it.

Which language will I learn?

English first, with more languages later. Echo uses your first language — Hindi, Spanish, Telugu, Tamil, Arabic, French and many more are offered at onboarding — to explain tricky words.

Do I need an account to start?

No. Start as a guest, free, with no sign-up. You can add Google or email later and keep your streak and progress.

How does Echo know my level?

Start with the two-minute placement check — two readings and one open answer. After that, your CEFR level moves automatically based on your recent scores.

How is my speaking scored?

Deterministically first: a verbatim transcript is aligned word by word with the text, patterns are tagged, and accuracy and pace are measured. Echo then adds friendly feedback and adjusts pronunciation and fluency. Scores cover accuracy, pronunciation, fluency and pace — plus how you sounded: energy, expressiveness, confidence, flow, steadiness and clarity.

Does Echo remember me between days?

Yes. Your level, weak patterns (which decay as you improve), vocabulary strength, recent topics and Echo’s notes persist, and each day’s plan is built from them.

Where can I get the app?

Parla is an iOS, Android and web app built with Expo. It isn’t being linked to a store listing from this page yet — when the store links are ready, this is where they’ll go. Nothing here points to a fake listing.

Speak English with confidence.
